1. Campus life
My residence card is about to expire, what should I do?
You will receive an e-mail from the University and the Student Support Section three months prior to the expiration date. For more information, click here for page 13.
How much is the balance of my bankbook required for renewal of the residence card?
As the required amount of deposit depends on the period of your stay and living expenses, it is not possible to indicate a definite amount for the balance of the deposit. However, note that if the balance of your bank account is too small, immigration may judge that you don’t have the ability to cover your expenses, and may not be updated. Please make sure that you have enough balance to live on and click here for page 15 for living expenses guide.
I am going abroad, do I need to do anything?
If you go overseas, for any purpose, please submit “Notification of Overseas Travel (海外渡航届)” to the Student Support Section (W1 A-305). You can get the document here or at the office (W1 A-305).
What should I do in the event of an accident/injury?
Please contact your academic supervisor, the department office, or the Student Support Section to ask for the following instructions. Please click here for page 52 for hospitals and insurance.
(Successful applicants) What should I do about procedures of VISA and on-campus dormitory?
Successful applicants are going to receive an e-mail from International Student Exchange Division within one month after the announcement of your acceptance. Please click here for the admission process.
I am leaving the on-campus dormitory, how do I find my next place to stay (apartment)?
Please refer to the document here for page 30. Also, there is an information session held at the dormitory in conjunction with the move-out period, so be sure to attend it.
Are there any necessary procedures for leaving Japan?
There are mainly two types of procedures for leaving Japan: at Kyushu University and at home. Especially, you are responsible for completing all required payments for fees and returning your residence card. For more details, please click here for page 56.
2. Financial Aid
Are there any scholarships I can apply for before enrolment?
Most scholarships at Kyushu University can only be applied for after enrollment. However, please note that not all applicants will necessarily receive a scholarship. For more details on Tuition Exemption and the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships, kindly click here.
Where can I find the information about the scholarship?
Information for the various scholarships is available on this website. The scholarship information is added and updated as needed.
Are there any full scholarships available?
Currently, there are no full scholarships available other than the MEXT scholarship.
